Okay, so it's been a while since I blogged, but my computer
went kaput slowly and I was loathe to spend the money on a new
one. Now that I have one, I wonder what the problem was.
I love this new machine!

So we spent last weekend in Knoxville, and now that I have
the new computer, my camera battery went kaput
after the first day. Wouldn't recharge. So I gave up on pictures
for the weekend. But I did get some cute ones at Mom and Dad's house.
Tina, did I ever show you my "tree-horse"?
Tina, did I ever show you my "tree-horse"?
I never told Mom and Dad about it
(just never thought to - they'd never seen it before last weekend),
but it was this tree near where the old shelter for selling
Christmas trees was. It had a kink in it that was just
the right size for a saddle. I played on that tree for years,
especially those years before I got Nick (my first horse).

I showed it to Mom and Dad this weekend while taking
the kids on a walk in the woods. The kids thought
it was neat, and Mom and Dad couldn't believe I'd
never showed it to them. I really don't know why I didn't.
Anna's excitement was slightly more subtle.
Anyway, we headed back to the trees, and Caleb
was fascinated by the new power poles back in there.
He was convinced he'd see something in one of those holes.
On the way back, Anna walked the last leg of the
trail back by herself. She walked up the gravel road,
and we walked along the lower pasture. Mom met her on
the other side, and she told her "Meemaw, I thought something
might get me, but it didn't."
She was SOOOO proud of walking in the woods by herself!
Afterwards, we played outside for ages.
After the big truck got boring (as much as they tried, they couldn't fit both rear ends onto that seat), they split up and Caleb played basketball with Daddy while Anna played with ALL the My Little Ponies on the front walkway.
When we were leaving, Caleb gave Daddy a hug and told him

What a great visit!

Went to Mom and Dad's yesterday, and when mom and I took Goldie for a walk she showed be the "horse." I did not know about that tree, but I wish I had! I did, however, have my own special tree. It was a large tree that they cut down and sawed the trunk into several pieces, making it look like a train. It was behind the swimming pool. I went looking for it yesterday and it had been moved :( The next time you bring the kids in I will show them where I made my "house."
